Shop For a New Bracelet in Warm Rich Autumn Colors!
Spirit of Change 3-strand gemstone, sterling silver and lampwork bracelet
$95.00
My latest is just packed full of unique and interesting gemstones!
Lovely shades of juicy orange Carnelian, Apple green Afghani Jade rondelles, crisp primo faceted Peridot, sterling silver feathers, warn brown Blonde Onyx (also from Afghanistan), interspersed with metallic copper colored glass, with a swirly encased moss green lampwork focal provide you a cornucopia of interesting shapes and colors to wear on your wrist.
With the crisp transition from Fall to Winter on a global and spititual level many things are percolating in preparation for the New Year; a time for storing up energy, organizing ideas, and laying groundwork for the road ahead, for new and exciting ventures.

This is the inner work we do to prepare for the outer work; every bit as important. Even animals do this. Bears hibernate, squirrels gather nuts and store them away for leaner times when food is scarce, and trees slough off old leaves preparing for the new growth which is to come.

This bracelet is very centering to the spirit and prepares you for the next chapter in your life; both exciting and rich.

It measures 8 1/2" and has a sterling silver lobster claw clasp.

It is topped off with a nice little cluster of charms on the ring the clasp goes into; a carved Carnelian feather, two sterling feathers, and green and white freshwater pearls (the green pearls includes some matching Afgani Jade and faceted Peridot).
Shipping to US destinations will include insurance and ship Priority Mail through December 25th.
If this is to be a Christmas present please order by December 17th just to be on the safe side. I am willing to giftwrap anything I offer in my shop through the holidays at no extra charge. Just ask in the buying message (or in a convo beforehand).

As you do your holiday shopping keep an eye on my shop, as I will be adding even more unique jewelry in the weeks leading up to the holidays, and remember; the best form of flattery to an artist is a purchase (especially repeat purchases), so if you like it follow up those hearts and go ahead and treat yourself or someone you care about to the finer things in life always crafted with high quality materials, and the experience, and skill of nearly 27 years.

Eye Candy Interlude - Exciting Bracelets by Giftbearer

Moss Chilled By Autumn - 7 1/2"-8 1/2" with extender.
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=vl_other_2&listing_id=15993456
This bracelet includes artisan-made ceramic beads made by a co-op of African women, lampwork beads, bone rondelles, irregular Vintage bone-colored glass disks and a daring combination of brass, copper, and vermeil.

Silver, beads, copper, lampwork, vermeil, you name it I've got it! You don't have to pass up what you really want if you start your holiday shopping early this year. Just set aside some funds from each paycheck and buy a piece here and there between now and December and before you know it everybody on your list will be taken care of. You'd be surprised how well this works rather than rushing at the last minutes to buy everything in that one pay period. Then in December you can sit back and relax because it's all done!

How many of you have had to settle for gifts last year that were cheap and fast but weren't quite right for the people close to you because time got short and you were afraid that you couldn't get shipping before the holidays?

You didn't realize where your money went and where your time went and suddenly there was not enough of either. You were stressed and frantic, trying to finish up your last minute shopping and somehow what should have been an enjoyable experience became instead a dreaded nightmare you just wanted to be done with. Soon you were looking for any gift with your last few dollars and didn't care what it was.

I want your experience to be better this year, so I'll be posting some possible suggestions on this blog, and maybe this can be a win/win for us both. Hopefully I'll gain some repeat customers, and you will thoroughly enjoy your holiday shopping experience, and your friends and family will be thrilled with just how perfect and thoughtful your gifts are.

Opulent Mystery - 6 2/8-7 6/8 with extender.
If you like big and bold bracelets this one will strike your fancy! It includes some very luminous lampwork beads, sterling chain, feathers and spacers, and the centerpiece is an impressive tumbled freeform nugget of Turquoise.

Caravan by Moonlight - 8"

Constructed using bead crochet, this bracelet uses an unusual AAA Lapis square with a hole in the middle as a focal and a toggle clasp. I always have fun making innovative features in my jewelry and this is another example of something functional but fun; one of those things that makes you go, "Hmmmm..."

See More cserpent!
Green Gurty Beaded Spider - $13.50
Made as a pendant or pin, she measures 2" (5.1 cm) by 2 1/4" (5.7 cm). She'll be flattened when she ships so you'll have to shape her up when she arrives. The large bead on her hind end may possibly be 100 years old and is definitely Vintage.

Susan of cserpent makes artisan jewelry and other beaded items using sterling silver, lampwork, gold-filled and some other varieties of beads. Her Etsy store carries interesting things such as cell phone charms, beaded pens (like the one you see above), bookmarks, and wine charms.

Red Clay Bangle Bracelet - Artisan Lampwork, Poppy Jasper and Sterling Silver - $45.00
A lampwork focal bead by Carol Colgan, red with ivory swirls, sterling silver beads, faceted poppy jasper beads, and stamped sterling silver tubes. It measures 6 1/4" (15.9 cm) on a bracelet sizer and should fit a 5 3/4" (14.6 cm) wrist.

The name of her Etsy online store came from when she and her husband went on a scuba diving trip and he nicknamed her sea serpent because that’s what she reminded her of, as she was tall and thin.

Both husband and mother contribute in some way to her jewelry-making and share her interest in it. Her mother also collects beads, and her husband bought her the stamp she uses for all her cards with her business name on it.

Susan started making jewelry when she was on a soccer team and a teammate invited her to take a wire-wrapping class with her. She made a bracelet and then went on to make a watchband from an idea sparked by one she saw in a magazine, and from then on she began to get more and more interested in making jewelry. As her work drew the interest of friends and family, she soon decided to start selling it to the public.

Pink Parade - Artisan Lampwork and Sterling Silver Bracelet - $111.00
Made with pink lampwork beads by UK glass artist sarahb119, large white freshwater pearls, Czech glass leaves, flowers, faceted rounds and rondelles, ruby round beads, crystal quartz pumpkins and LOTS of sterling silver. 7 1/2" (19 cm) on a bracelet sizer and should fit a 7" (17.8 cm) wrist, but can adjust size if needed.

Wild Pen - Lime/Orange/Blue Lampwork Beaded Pen - $41.00
Pen with Pewter, Silver, (and Lampwork beads made by Geoff Porter) on the upper part. The dangles include Czech glass, murano, cats’ eye, green aventurine, blue quartz, seed and other miscellaneous beads. It measures 6.25" (15.9 cm) in length.

Susan belongs to several Etsy Street Teams; CCCOE (California Crafters Club on Etsy), JET (Jewelry on Etsy), etsyBEAD (bead lovers of all sorts), BeadHive (started on Ebay and has now joined Etsy a group of jewelry artisans who all use high quality components to create artisan quality jewelry) and TBO (Tranquil Beading Oasis).

If you put JET or JHS in the comments section when you buy an item your shipping is FREE!!!

Beauty and the Bead

Exceptional Lampwork bracelet - $60.00
Measures 7 ½” without the clasp. The bracelet includes one sterling silver prayer charm and another sterling charm with kanji on it.

Judy Richards of Cat’s Paw Artifacts is a lampworker and she also does bead-weaving and incorporates her own handcrafted beads into her jewelry. She belongs to the Portland (Oregon) Bead Society, and the International Society of Glass Beadmakers.

Probably one of her best figurative pieces yet, the shape of the horse bead above reminds me of the elegant prancing glass horse in the movie the Glass Menagerie. In addition to its flowing and regal movement, it is also a glowing transparent amber color! This will make an impressive focal piece for a necklace.

Lampwork horse Pendant- $20.00
38 by 38 mm - stands up on its own, but made to hang as a pendant with Swarovski crystals. Carefully kiln annealed.
This bracelet filled with dotty, textured lampwork beads looks like the supple segments of a caterpillar with its variations on a theme transitioning from bead to bead while the composition works together as a cohesive unit.

Below is a tribal design using a variety of materials and combining stamping, beadwork, lampwork, and PMC to create a very rich but earthy feeling. The disk is quite substantial and contrasts well against the blue-green and the brown of the stones.

Mayan Look Pendant with Jasper necklace - $40.00
This necklace has a 19 inch strand with Jasper, Turquoise, and a smaller lampwork bead with precious metal clay (fine silver) detail.

I have always been partial to Ocean Jasper and this necklace combines that with a lovely circular peyote stitch cord, bead-woven setting, and bail; a lovely combination of texture, color, and techniques. I know from experience just how long it takes to create a tube of mesh this length. You are getting quite a bargain at this price!

Ocean Jasper Cabochon Bead-woven Necklace - $65.00
21 inch bead-woven rope with a lovely bead encased ocean jasper cabochon.

If you will be in the Portland area don’t miss the STUDIO SALE at the artist’s homeDecember 8 - 2 to 5 p.m. Please convo her on Etsy for directions and her address, or you can also call 503-621-4942. There will be refreshments. (Let her know if you saw her feature in one of these 90 Day Challenge blog posts).

Long Ago
These remind me of cracked earth, and unlike most of Anne's other beads have a matte surface. I love the combination of brown and yellow with a touch of pink.
*****************************************************************
Beads of Wonder from Down Under
*****************************************************************
Anne Dundas is from Sydney, Australia and has been making jewelry since 2004. She started as a way to fill her time while caring for her mother with MS and then developed an interest in lampwork bead-making. She loves working with glass and playing with the colors, watching it melt before her very eyes, then shaping it into solid objects of beauty, and value to others.

Anne also designs business cards for other artist, something she started when somebody asked her opinion on their design. She played around with the graphics and found that she had talent in that area as well as in bead and jewelry design.
See her graphics at: www.annedundas.com/graphics

The bracelet pictured at top, Royal Desire won first place in the metalwork category of the Arts Competition at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. It is an unusual mix of chainmaille and Austrian crystal bicone beads. This particular weave looks almost like knitting.

Tien Hou-Queen of Heaven is a set of 8 lampwork beads with swirls of salmon pink, white, black, blue and gray. Along with it are some facetted pink transparent beads as accents. These are among my favorites of all her current collection.

Next are the pink and green equivalent; Inanna…Sumarian Queen of Heaven. Like Tien Hou, these beauties have central vortexes that spins out to spread pinwheels of color (in this case pink and green) widening out as the reach the outer edges, someone flat on two sides but edged with tiny dots of glass making them resemble a sea cucumber. They are somewhere between round, oval, and rectangular. These also have pink accent beads that come with the set, but they have 10 of her lampwork beads.

Better snap up these gorgeous things fast...before I do! I'm surprised they've been sitting there as long as they have. With any luck I will make some sales of my own so that I can buy some of my favorites before they're all gone.

If you would like quality and unusual glass beads and/or jewelry you should really keep an eye on her whole collection at http://annedundas.etsy.com/

Alilsumptinsumptin In Your Stocking This Season

Blue Rondo La Turk
Double Strand Turquoise and Lampwork Heart Bracelet; includes artisan lampwork heart focal by Janet Crosby, top quality Grade A Blue Chinese Turquoise wheels, and an assortment of all sterling silver components.

Over the past 9 months Eva Espiritu has raised a total $1085.00 through her Paws For A Good Cause campaign with 100% of proceeds of selected pieces donated to the Humane Society of the United States. The artist offers the added benefit of free US shipping to all who purchase these items. While you give a gift to someone you love, you also give a gift to needy and homeless animals with your purchase.

Her jewelry is made from high-quality, kiln annealed lampwork beads created by glass artists Janet Crosby, Kathrin Kneidl-Levi, Julia Lund, Dawn White, Becky Mason, (and Etsy’s own) Marcy Lamberson combined with sterling and Hill Tribes Silver (which is at least 97% pure), and sometimes also genuine gemstones. Her color choices and scale are usually big and bold; showing vitality and decisiveness that like her last name suggests spirit and spunk.

Eva’s designs range from the whimsical and funny, with names such as K-9 Cubed, Give The Dog A Bone, B-B-B-Bad To The Bone, and Bow 2 The Wow Wow, to the more serious cornucopia-like Cha-Cha style charm bracelets bursting with abundance, like the Southern California orange groves of her home. My personal favorites are the bracelets bursting with beads. Her layering of color and texture, often incorporating lampwork from several different artists in the same piece, creates exquisite and visually fulfilling designs. These are pieces you could look at for hours, and like a Where is Waldo picture, see something new among the numerous dangles every time.

If you love animals, flowers, charm bracelets, silver, or lovely artisan lampwork with bright colors, be sure to put Alilsumptinsumptin on your list of places to buy your Holiday gifts this year!

Bead-On-A-Stick
You can tell by looking at Marcy Lamberson’s work that she has a healthy sense of humor! Living in Atlanta, GA. she gets many of her ideas while watching plants and animals native to the area, then with torch in hand, she captures the impish characters inside.

Some are sort of mischievous as if they’ve got a devious plan up their sleeves, and others, almost woefully innocent, seemingly oblivious to what has happened to bring them into existence, as if born fully grown, yet somehow eternally young.

Reinforced by the smiles, laughter (and custom orders) these creatures evoke in others, she has continued to follow the thread, watching to see where it will lead, shaping her as much as she shaped the glass. That raises an interesting question. Does life influence style, or does the artist impact life? Most likely the answer to that falls somewhere in the middle. How much does one’s experience determine what we make, what medium we choose, even the colors and textures we bring into being in that which we create?

Marcy actually started out as a watercolor painter and enjoyed the process of mixing and blending colors in that medium so much that naturally glasswork was a logical next step, both providing her the comfort in familiarity she’d previously known, and the promise of new and exciting challenges ahead, and the satisfaction of being able to render her ideas 3-dimensionally.

Most of her days are spent making more beads and sculptures, and teaching classes out of her home.
There is this place where artists go in which there is no sense of time, where there is no right or wrong, where candy is everlasting, and flowers never die, and a child can live forever.

Perhaps this is what the world is missing now with busy schedules, global warming, war in the middle east, and life in a culture in which people are drowning in expectations they can never measure up to, work fast enough, make enough money, spend enough time with friends and family, consumed with guilt, and anger, and fear for the future. In a society in which people are slaves to their cell phones, and the American worker is as expendable as a McDonald’s hamburger carton, and the President has told us that art is unnecessary in the classroom, crayons are put away in the closet, dismissed as frivolous and irrelevant to the “really serious” work at hand, where the adage “no pain, no gain” rules the day, humor and whimsy are precious commodities. Like an endangered species threatened with extinction these qualities must be nurtured and protected with all we’ve got.

Art is what brings us back to what really matters, to that little slice of heaven we dream about, yet far too often just let slip through our fingers. Here is your chance to get a little bit of what you’ve been missing. Put it in a necklace, or on your desk to remind you of that child within. She isn’t gone, just hard to locate sometimes. To buy your little piece of whimsy, go to http://studiomarcy.etsy.com/
These make great gifts!
